Description of the
Job Related Abilities Test
Obstacle Course
56.7 seconds
Start from a seated position in a police
car and read the dots on two dice placed at each end of the
hood.
Time starts when your foot hits the
ground.
Sprint, jump over yellow stripe, run under
clothes line, and through culvert.
Climb up and over the high platform.
Climb over 4 foot wall.
Climb over 6 foot wall.
Climb through window.
Walk the balance beam. You must touch the
markings at the beginning and the end of the balance beam.
Time will stop after touching the mark at
the end of the balance beam and your foot touches the
ground.
You must complete each obstacle in order
before moving to the next.
You will be allowed 2 attempts at
completing the course.
The administrators of the test have full
discretion in determining whether or not an applicant has
successfully completed the test.
Rescue of an injured
person No Time Limit
The 165 lb. dummy must be dragged a
designated distance, which is approximately 56 feet. You
must not drop or lay down the dummy, and you may not rest
while leaning on the dummy.

Sprint 1/4 mile on a designated course.

Following the JRAT, successful
applicants will complete report writing, spelling and math
