The Beaumont Police Explorers Post 730 competed in the largest explorer competition in the State last Saturday, October 19, 2013.  The event was held in San Antonio, and our explorers competed against 91 teams from across the state.  The competition was dealing with simulated police scenarios in which the explorers would have to display knowledge on how a police officer would handle a particular situation.  The two Beaumont teams from post 730 took trophies for the following events:

1st place for Robbery in Progress

2nd place for traffic stops

2nd place for Domestic Disturbances,

Then, out of 91 teams the two Beaumont teams took 2nd and 3rd place for best team over all.

The Post will be having a meeting at the BPD shooting range at 6:30PM.  Chief James Singletary and others will be on hand to honor the recent achievements of the explorers.

The Officers of the Beaumont Police Department are very proud of the post, and are looking forward to the day that some or all of these explorers become police officers themselves.

Officer Doug Kibodeaux
