Southeast Texas, approximately 90 miles east of Houston, Texas. It
is a city with a residential population of approximately 114,000
citizens which swells tremendously during the working hours. The
Beaumont Police Department provides protection to approximately 80 This website offers the visitor an abundance of information about the Beaumont Police Department and the City of Beaumont. If you are interested in a law enforcement or telecommunicator career, please check out our employment information. The City of Beaumont accepts applications for police officers on an ongoing basis from certified peace officers in the State of Texas; and/or college graduates with a four-year degree from an accredited college or university ;and/or veterans recently (within 48 months) honorably discharged from the military with at least 60 college hours. Applicants who are selected for employment and are not currently licensed as a Texas peace officer will be designated as a civilian employee and enrolled in the regional police academy. An employment application for both police officer and civilian telecommunicator is available via this website and all applicants are encouraged to use the online form. For employment questions not answered on this website at either the employment information page or the freqently asked questions page, please e-mail Sue Dismukes with the Human Resources Department. Questions page for answers to such questions as how to get a copy of a
police report or who to call for an alarm permit. If your question
is not there, please e-mail us so we can respond. We have added
the opportunity for citizens to file a police report directly from the
website if the offense reported meets certain criteria. And, if
you are interested in the Citizen's Police Academy or the Citizens On
Patrol Program, you can get an
