E-MAIL ADDRESSESSeveral officers within the Beaumont Police Department currently have Internet e-mail addresses. It is oftentimes convenient for other officers and/or citizens to communicate directly with officers who can answer their questions due to their interests, specialty and expertise. Chief Tom ScofieldChief Scofield has been the Beaumont Police Chief since 1993. Prior to that assignment, Chief Scofield held a number of departmental positions including SWAT commander.

Capt. Melissa Ownby molane@ih2000.net or mownby@ci.beaumont.tx.usCapt. Ownby is a 22-year veteran of the Beaumont Police Department. She is currently assigned as the Communications Unit supervisor as well as the patrol deputy chief adjunct. She also oversees the Records Unit. Capt. Ownby is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas. She is the webmaster for the department's website.
