Animal
Services
The Animal Services Unit of the Beaumont Police
Department is responsible for the enforcement of the
city's ordinances related to animals, issuance of kennel
licenses and animal trap rental. Animal Control officers
are state certified animal control officers and patrol
the city to eliminate nuisances and threats to the
public resulting from animals running at large or kept
in unsafe conditions. Other responsibilities of the
Animal Control officers include enforcing the leash law,
impounding stray animals and removing animal carcasses
from streets and right-of-ways.
Citizens who have lost a pet can contact the Animal
Services Unit and inquire if their pet has been located.
The Animal Services Unit encourages pet adoptions from
the shelter and offers educational literature on all
aspects of animal services ranging from animal cruelty
to the number of animals kept at a single location. The
unit is responsible for the investigation of all animal
bites within the City of Beaumont.
The unit can be contacted 24 hours a day, seven days a
week for emergencies through the Beaumont Police
Department at 409-832-1234. All other calls can be
directed to 311.
