Lost Pets

Citizens who have lost a pet can contact the Animal Services Unit or click to email and inquire if their pet has been located by one of the Animal Services Officers.

Tips for

  • Always keep an identification tag on your pet, including the pet’s name and a valid phone number to call if they are found. Ask your vet about micro-chipping.

  • Keep a good, current photo of your pet in case it goes missing

  • Do not assume your pet will come home on its own - report your lost pet immediately

Found Pets
If you have found an animal and would like it to be picked up, contact the city’s service helpline by dialing 311, or 409-980-8311. Found animals or other surrenders can be brought to the shelter Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you would prefer to keep the pet in your home and search for the owner, we recommend that you bring the animal in to have it scanned for a microchip, and fill out a found pet report.
