The Animal Services Unit of the
Beaumont Police Department is responsible for the
enforcement of the City’s ordinances related to animals,
issuance of kennel licenses and animal trap rental. The
Animal Service Officers are State Certified Animal Service
Officers and patrol the City to eliminate nuisances and
threats to the public resulting from animals running at
large or kept in unsafe conditions. Other responsibilities
of the Animal Control Officers are to enforce the leash law
requiring confinement of dogs to the owner’s premises, as
well as stray animal impoundment and carcass removal from
streets and rights of way.
Citizens who have lost a pet can contact the
Animal Services Unit or click to email
and inquire if their pet has been located by one of
the Animal Services Officers. The Animal Services Unit encourages pet
adoptions from the shelter and offers educational literature on all
aspects of animal services ranging from animal cruelty to the number of
animals kept at a single location. This unit is responsible for the
investigation of all animal bites within the City of Beaumont and can be
contacted 24 hours a day for emergencies through the Police Department
