The Animal Services Unit of the Beaumont Police Department is responsible for the enforcement of the City’s ordinances related to animals, issuance of kennel licenses and animal trap rental. The Animal Service Officers are State Certified Animal Service Officers and patrol the City to eliminate nuisances and threats to the public resulting from animals running at large or kept in unsafe conditions. Other responsibilities of the Animal Control Officers are to enforce the leash law requiring confinement of dogs to the owner’s premises, as well as stray animal impoundment and carcass removal from streets and rights of way.

Citizens who have lost a pet can contact the Animal Services Unit or click to email and inquire if their pet has been located by one of the Animal Services Officers. The Animal Services Unit encourages pet adoptions from the shelter and offers educational literature on all aspects of animal services ranging from animal cruelty to the number of animals kept at a single location. This unit is responsible for the investigation of all animal bites within the City of Beaumont and can be contacted 24 hours a day for emergencies through the Police Department at 832-1234. All other calls can be directed to 311 or 980.8311.

Before making the decision to get a pet, spend some time determining why you want one and what type of pet would be best.

PLEASE NOTE, that due to the large number of animals that we receive and adopt each day, we are unable to guarantee that specific animals shown through this Web site will still be available when you come to the Shelter.  We make every effort to update our adoption page as often as possible. Sorry, but we are unable to hold animals by phone, fax, or electronic mail.
